Dantex has further strengthened its position in the UK digital label printing market with the installation of its flagship PicoJet 1200 Hybrid press at independent converter B S Labels Limited. According to Dantex, the investment reflects a growing trend among experienced label producers to choose British-built, high-performance digital solutions that combine speed, color vibrancy and inline efficiency.

Featuring an integrated flexo station, semi-rotary diecutting and Dantex’s full gamut ink set – CMYK plus white, green, orange and violet – the PicoJet 1200 Hybrid was selected by B S Labels to meet increasing demand for high-impact labels and faster turnaround times.

“We’ve been printing digital for 12 years, but the PicoJet represents a step-change in capability,” says Dan Pole, studio and digital print manager at B S Labels. “We looked at several competitor presses, but the combination of extended gamut, outstanding white ink and the fact that it’s made in Britain gave Dantex the clear edge. Their long-standing reputation for quality and service only reinforced our decision.”

B S Labels has enjoyed a long relationship with Dantex, previously using the company’s plate materials and processing equipment. That history of reliability and expertise played a crucial role in their decision to transition to the PicoJet platform.

“The Dantex team couldn’t have been more accommodating. Their knowledge of digital inkjet is evident and they guided us through every stage of the process,” adds Pole. “In fact, this was the smoothest install I’ve ever been part of, being completely seamless from start to finish.”

The PicoJet’s extended color gamut enables B S Labels to shift more flexographic work to digital while maintaining Pantone-level color accuracy. Additionally, features like inline finishing and a 100% inspection system increase efficiency, reduce waste and open up new market opportunities.

“This installation is not just about increasing our capacity, it’s about futureproofing our business with a digital press that can genuinely deliver on quality, speed and versatility,” says Pole. “It also marks a significant milestone in what has always been a strong and trusted partnership with Dantex.”

Richard Dimmock, international sales manager at Dantex, comments, “We’re delighted to see B S Labels take this next step with the PicoJet 1200 Hybrid. They are a forward-thinking business with high standards and this installation is a perfect match for their ambitions. The hybrid model offers the flexibility and performance modern converters need, and we’re proud that our British-built technology is continuing to set the standard for digital inkjet in this sector.”
